Im Rahmen des laufenden _Call for proposals_ des Programms 
_Telematics for Libraries_ der EU unternimmt PubliCA die Aufgabe, auf 
Projektvorschlaege Oeffentlicher Bibliotheken aufmerksam zu machen.
Der angehaengte Projektvorschlag stammt aus der Mailingliste

Project LIBERATOR (Libraries in European Regions Access to Telematics
and Other Resources)

Through the innovative development of Regional Information Services,
based on partnerships and a distributive model, LIBERATOR addresses
the urgent need to establish the critical role of public libraries
within the information society

The aims of project LIBERATOR are :

1.     To develop and confirm the strategic importance of public 
        libraries in the provision of regional information services

2.    To establish exemplary cross sectoral regional information 
        services

3.    To increase public perception throughout Europe of the vital 
        role of public libraries

4.    To establish models of best practice that can be adapted 
        throughout European regions

The aims will be realised through the following objectives

1.    Development of WWW based regional information services in 
       European states

2.    Establishment of test-beds for library-mediated access to 
       information in mixed media formats including human interfacing

3.    Coordination of cross-sectoral partnerships within regions to 
       create distributive networks 

4.    Establishment of user-driven access and presentation of 
       information

5.    Real transfer of lessons between partners at varying levels of 
       development
