*** REMINDER - Registration Open *** eSciDoc Days 2011, October 26-27, Berlin
*** www.escidoc.org
********************************************************************************

The Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL) and FIZ Karlsruhe - Leibniz Institute for
Information Infrastructure cordially invite to register for the 4th eSciDoc
Days to be held on October 26 and 27, 2011, in Berlin, Germany.

eSciDoc, the open source eResearch environment, has been developed by the two
organizations to provide applications and services based on a shared
infrastructure for managing research and publication data together with the
related metadata, relations and access rights.
The two-day conference will provide extensive information about collaborative
eResearch environments and related challenges, e. g. the sustainable management
of a growing amount of data throughout the research process and the provision
of a publishing environment for research results together with research data.
Experts with different background in scholarly information management will
discuss the latest developments in building digital information
infrastructures: researchers and information professionals as well as chief
information officers and software developers.

Keynote speaker at this year's eSciDoc Days is Simon Hodson, Programme Manager
at JISC (UK) for Managing Research Data. Addressing challenges, opportunities
and benefits, he will share his expertise in promoting and supporting good data
management and data sharing in higher education and research.

The first day will give a general overview of eSciDoc and its growing community
as well as the basic services and customized applications. On the second day
there will be a track with three focal topic sessions: "Infrastructure and
Integration Projects", "Research Data Management" and "eSciDoc - Getting
started". These sessions will provide progress reports with up-to-date
information and talks with practical relevance giving an overview of eSciDoc
and its fields of application. Two additional "hands-on" tracks with
comprehensive tutorials will give participants with technical background the
opportunity to familiarize themselves with installing the eSciDoc
Infrastructure and developing their own individual eSciDoc Applications.

Of course, there is also the opportunity to discuss future developments and
project ideas with experts from the MPDL and FIZ Karlsruhe. They are looking
forward to meeting you at the eSciDoc Days 2011.

Please visit www.escidoc.org for the program and your personal registration.
