The newly established Max Planck Institute Luxembourg is an Institute of the 
Max Planck Society, which is Germany's most successful research organization. 
The Institute in Luxembourg conducts research in the areas of European law of 
civil procedure, international litigation and arbitration and dispute 
resolution in the financial markets.

In order to support its team of librarians, the Institute is currently seeking 
a creative, energetic, service-oriented:

                                               LIBRARIAN FOR USER SERVICES

The position:
As a librarian, you will provide different services for all internal and 
external users of the library. You will more specifically:

-          Satisfy user requests for books, articles and other publications and 
inform on how to use the collection;

-          Conduct searches in online databases, such as Westlaw, HeinOnline, 
JSTOR, Lexis and others in order to find the requested publications;

-          Manage interlibrary loan requests;

-          Contribute to the development of the electronic collection by 
scanning and cataloguing library materials;

-          Participate in the implementation of a new RFID self-check system;

-          Enhance the user experience by providing library/shelf signage, 
compiling user guides, updating the library rules and policies, etc.;

-          Take care about the library web page and make sure that all of the 
information is up-to-date;

-          Execute other library tasks and support on administrative duties 
when required.

Your profile:

-          You hold a Master degree in Library or Information Sciences with a 
first professional experience of 2 years in a relevant position;

-          You have experience with an integrated library system - experience 
with an RFID system being considered as a plus;

-          You are familiar with database searching and electronic resources;

-          You can work both independently and as part of a team;

-          You enjoy working in an international environment;

-          You are fluent in English - any other language being an additional 
asset.
