"The image of the library being stately in design, with rows of shelves, long 
tables and a deadly silence is being challenged by modern libraries of today. 
They range from using up to date technology, to being housed in recycled 
telephone booths or subway stations. Mobile libraries are mounted on elephants, 
on boats and bicycles. Many require no membership, no ID and some even don't 
want the books back. At a time when books are supposedly dead, the library is 
going through a revival."
