[InetBib] Call for Participation in IATUL Special Interest Groups

Call for Participation in IATUL Special Interest Groups

To complement the traditional International Association of University Libraries
(IATUL<http://iatul.org/>) annual conferences and to overcome the unavoidable
time limitation of a yearly meeting, special interest groups are meant to
provide a continuous opportunity to create new approaches to challenges in
librarianship by joint international efforts.

Each task force focuses on a particular subject area and defines its own terms
of reference, together with long and short-term goals. Task forces are chaired
by senior librarians who will be appointed by the IATUL Board.

Special interest groups will be encouraged to present the results of their work
at Annual IATUL Conferences. The standard means of communication for Special
Interest Groups will be e-mail and video conferencing.

Following requests from its membership, the International Association of
University Libraries offers the opportunity for IATUL member library personnel
to participate in its

* Special Interest Group for the Advancement of Library Services in
Emerging Countries, SIG-ALICE

* Special Interest Group for Library Services related to Research
Impact Measurement, SIG-METRICS

* Special Interest Group for Library Services related to Research Data
Management, SIG-DATA

Beyond the support of their library director for their participation, members
of special interest groups are expected to actively engage in communications
such as email and video phone calls between meetings at conferences. They
assume responsibility for achieving the targets suggested by the group and
adopted by the IATUL Board of Directors, and implement projects assigned to
them by the chair of the special interest group.

For expressions of interest or, for individual questions or further information
please contact the IATUL Office at iatul@xxxxxxxxx<mailto:iatul@xxxxxxxxx>.

More information on IATUL<http://iatul.org/> and the Special Interest
Groups<http://iatul.org/services/special-interest-groups> is available on the
associations website.

We look forward to your applications.
