Subject: Re: P. Kwan's request for search engine descriptions

Pauline Kwan requested comparisons/descriptions of the various
search engines available on the Web. A good comparison of
Jumpstation II, Webcrawler, Lycos, the Worm, RBSE, and CUI W3 can
be found in the April 1995 issue of *Internet World*, pgs. 41-44.
The article compares the search strategies of each and which ones
are better for certain types of searches.

Back issues of *Internet World* can be found at
http://www.mecklerweb.com. I was not able to access that site
to determine if the April issue is there, however.

The article mentions another source for information on search engines:
John December's "New Spiders Roam the Web" located at:
http://www.rpi.edu/~decemj/cmc/mag/1994/sep/spiders.html
Again, I haven't tried this one yet either.
