The Leibniz Institute for Psychology Information (ZPID) in Trier (Germany)
is an internationally renowned research support organization in psychology
and a member of the prestigious Leibniz Association.

To fulfil the ever-increasing research infrastructure needs expressed by
researchers and psychology professionals, ZPID is in the process of
strategic expansion directed at meeting these needs to become psychology’s
one-stop research service center. Current as well as future ZPID research
areas and services are based on and guided by the values of open science
and open innovation.

Current openings:



*Junior Researcher (m/f): Publishing*

(salary group TV-L EG 13, 75%, initially limited to 2 years)



Preferred start date is May 2, 2018 or later



*Duties and functions:*



Facilitate the development of innovative open access publishing: Support
the strategic expansion of ZPID’s publishing platform PsychOpen by helping
the PsychOpen Team to

   - Manage PsychOpen service operations including process design
   - Develop innovative publishing features and conceptualize an
   infrastructure for new publication types (e.g., pre-registered manuscripts
   or semantically enhanced articles) and workflows
   - Plan new journal launches or migrations of existing journals to the
   platform
   - Coordinate with external service providers and establish and oversee
   the publishing workflow
   - Oversee the activities of all journals, support copy- and layout
   editing, and maintain high quality editorial standards
   - Conduct marketing activities and build relationships with the
   psychology community
   - Support editors throughout the whole editing workflow and assist them
   in developing editorial and content acquisition strategies
   - Help authors, reviewers and end-users in solving their technical issues



*Your profile*:


   - Master-level degree in Computer Science, Library and Information
   Science or in Psychology, or in a related area
   - Relevant experience in the academic and/or scholarly publishing sectors
   - Familiarity with publishing workflows, software, and platforms
   - Basic Knowledge of working in a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
   environment
   - Commitment to high quality community and customer service and a strong
   interest in helping others solve their technical issues
   - Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
