Einladung zum 17:15 Kolloquium der ETH-Bibliothek



Erhalten Sie am 17:15 Kolloquium der ETH-Bibliothek von Donnerstag, 29. 
September 2022 Einblick in die Arbeit des ETH AI Center. Adrian Notz, Kurator, 
spricht über Fragen und Themen, die am Center erforscht werden.



In der europäischen Geschichte war die Dichotomie zwischen Maschinen und 
Menschen, Ästhetik und Rationalität, Sehnsucht nach der Natur und dem Indigenen 
gegenüber der industriellen Entfremdung schon immer ein Thema für die modernen 
Menschen. Gegenwärtig scheint dieses alte Thema nicht nur in der Kunst, sondern 
auch in breiteren Kreisen der Gesellschaft Beachtung zu finden. So ist es 
interessant zu sehen, dass das Werben der Kunst um Aufmerksamkeit in der 
Wissenschaft und Technologie aktuell Gehör findet, was insbesondere mit der 
Entwicklung künstlicher Intelligenz zu tun hat Denn diese Technologie scheint 
entscheidend für die Schaffung einer menschlicheren Zukunft zu sein. Diese und 
andere Fragen und Themen werden am ETH AI Center in Zürich mit seiner AI+Art 
Initiative erforscht, um mit künstlerischen Interventionen und Strategien eine 
andere Art der Intelligenz einzubringen.



Das 17:15 Kolloquium findet am Donnerstag, 29. September 2022 um 17.15 Uhr in 
hybrider Form auf Deutsch statt. Gerne begrüssen wir Sie vor Ort an der ETH

Die Formel des 17:15 Kolloquiums lautet: 30 Minuten Vortrag + 30 Minuten 
Diskussion + Gesprächsrunde in Kleingruppen = Inspiration für den Arbeitsalltag.

Save the Date: Die nächsten 17:15 Kolloquien finden an folgenden Donnerstagen 
statt: 27. Oktober und 24. November, jeweils um 17.15 Uhr vor Ort an der ETH 
Zürich und auf Zoom.

Invitation to the 17:15 Colloquium by the ETH Library



Get an insight into the work of the ETH AI Center at the 17:15 Colloquium of 
the ETH Library on Thursday, 29 September 2022. Adrian Notz, curator, will talk 
about questions and topics that are being researched at the Center.



Throughout European history, modern humans have grappled with the dichotomy 
between man and machine, aesthetics and rationality, the longing for nature and 
the indigenous as a contrast to industrial alienation. Artists, but also 
society in general, are taking an interest in this ancient topic. 
Interestingly, art's calls for attention are resonating in the spheres of 
science and technology, and it is the development of artificial intelligence 
that has brought this encounter about. The technology appears to be a decisive 
factor in the future of the human race. The work of the AI+Art Initiative at 
the ETH AI Center in Zurich is dedicated to these very questions and topics, 
aiming to contribute a different type of intelligence through artistic 
interventions and strategies.



The 17:15 Colloquium will take place on Thursday, 29 September 2022 at 17.15 in 
hybrid form in German. We would be happy to welcome you on site at ETH Zurich,

discussion + a round of discussions in small groups = inspiration for our daily
