  Web-based management of subject guides
==========================================

ResearchGuide is an open-source application for making subject guides and
specialist information pages using Web forms.

It seems many libraries face the challenge of creating and managing subject
guides on the web. Through a database-driven approach, ResearchGuide allows
centralized management of content and a similar look and feel across guides.
 At the same time librarians can create custom categories within guides and
add any number of resources within each category.

The application requires local installation of PHP (open-source
web-scripting software) and MySQL (open-source database software). It will
probably also require some coordination between reference librarians and
systems or web development librarians.
