[InetBib] Fwd: [Archiving 2008 Call for Papers Deadline Extended]

Mehrfachempfang bitte ich zu entschuldigen.
"Archiving" ist hier im Sinne der Langzeitarchivierung gemeint, also weniger OT, als es denn Anschein haben könnte.

You still have time to submit a paper to Archiving 2008! Due to the
upcoming US holiday and requests from participants, the deadline for
submitting presentation abstracts to Archiving 2008—to be held June
24-27, 2008 in Bern, Switzerland—is extended to December 16, 2007 at
11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time.

A PDF of the Call for Papers can be found at
www.imaging.org/conferences/archiving2008
<http://www.imaging.org/conferences/archiving2008>.

Paper proposals should be submitted according to the process described at

http://www.imaging.org/conferences/archiving2008/authors.cfm.
Prospective authors are invited to submit oral and interactive
presentations by the December 16th deadline.

The IS&T Archiving Conference brings together a unique community of
imaging novices and experts from libraries, archives, records
management, and information technology institutions to discuss and
explore the expanding field of digital archiving and preservation.
Attendees from around the world represent industry, academia,
governments, and cultural heritage institutions. The conference presents
the latest research results on archiving, provides a forum to explore
new strategies and policies, and reports on successful projects that can
serve as benchmarks in the field.

Proposed program topics include:

    * Metadata and data retrieval
    * Integrity of digital collections
    * Containers and packaging (e.g. METS, XFDU)
    * How to manage redundancy of collected items
    * Managing large scale collections
    * Automated metadata extraction/harvest
    * Economics of the cultural memory in a digital world
    * Ingest tools and workflows

· Imaging and Image Workflow Processes

    * Image acquisition and digitization workflows
    * Image capture and quality assurance
