Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,

vor knapp drei Wochen habe ich Ihnen den ZB MED COVID-19 Hub vorgestellt. 
https://covid-19.zbmed.de/ In der Zwischenzeit haben wir daran gearbeitet und 
den Hub weiter ausgebaut: 

Sie finden dort zum Beispiel einen Link zur LIVIVO COVID-19 Collection. Das ist 
eine Spezialanwendung unseres Suchportals LIVIVO. Die neue Suchoberfläche 
beinhaltet die gleichen Recherchemöglichkeiten wie die reguläre LIVIVO-Suche. 
Sie ist jedoch begrenzt auf rund 50.000 spezifische Einträge zu SARS-CoV-2 und 
COVID-19 aus verschiedenen Quellen. Dazu zählen unter anderem das COVID-19 Open 
Research Dataset sowie aktuelle Preprints aus bioRxiv und medRxiv.

Unser Team sichtet die zahlreichen Hinweise, die es inzwischen rund um COVID-19 
und SARS-CoV-2 gibt. Zuverlässige, wissenschaftliche Internetquellen – 
überwiegend Publikationen – stellen wir in einer systematisierten Übersicht 
zusammen. Sie enthält frei verfügbare Verlags- und Open-Access-Angebote und 
verlinkt Preprint-Server, Datenbanken und Suchportale. Zudem werden 
Statistiken, Übersichtskarten und Trainingsmaterialien aufgelistet. Alle 
Einträge sind sowohl nach Publikationstypen als auch thematisch systematisiert.

Für die Veröffentlichung von Forschungsdaten zu SARS-CoV-2-/COVID-19 stellen 
wir unsere PUBLISSO-Infrastruktur und Beratung zur Verfügung. Forschungsdaten 
können im Fachrepositorium Lebenswissenschaften publiziert werden, so dass die 
weitere Nutzung möglich ist. Wir unterstützen die Forschenden sowohl bei der 
Veröffentlichung mit den richtigen Metadaten, der Zuweisung eines persistenten 
Identifikators zu jedem Datensatz als auch bei Fragen zum Urheberrecht, 
Datenschutz, Dokumentation, Formatierung, der technischen Wiederverwendbarkeit 
und der Integrität.

Gemeinsam mit dem NFDI4Microbiota-Konsortium fördert ZB MED die 
Genomsequenzierung des Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. Da bisher erst wenige Genome 
öffentlich verfügbar sind, arbeitet das Konsortium gemeinsam mit Partnerlaboren 
daran, z.B. durch Unterstützung bei der Probenvorbereitung, der Sequenzierung 
und Assemblierung oder der Speicherung in öffentlichen Repositorien.

Three weeks ago I presented the ZB MED COVID-19 Hub to you. 
https://covid-19.zbmed.de/ We have continued to work on it and have expanded 
the hub: 

For example, you will now find a link to the LIVIVIVO COVID-19 Collection. This 
is a special application of our LIVIVIVO search portal. The new search 
interface includes the same search options as the regular LIVIVIVO search. 
However, it is limited to about 50.000 specific entries on SARS-CoV-2 and 
COVID-19 from different sources. These include the COVID-19 Open Research 
Dataset and current preprints from bioRxiv and medRxiv.

Our team is reviewing the numerous indications that now exist around COVID-19 
and SARS-CoV-2. We compile reliable, scientific Internet sources – mainly 
publications – in a systematic overview. It contains freely available 
publishing and open access offers and links preprint servers, databases and 
search portals. Statistics, overview maps and training materials are also 
listed. All entries are systematised both by publication type and by topic. The

For the publication of research data on SARS-CoV-2-/COVID-19 we provide our 
PUBLISSO infrastructure and consulting services. Research data can be published 
in the specialized repository of life sciences, so that further use is 
possible. We support the researchers in publishing with the correct metadata, 
the assignment of a persistent identifier to each data set as well as in 
questions of copyright, data protection, documentation, formatting, technical 
reusability and integrity.

Together with the NFDI4Microbiota consortium, ZB MED supports the genome 
sequencing of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. As only a few genomes are publicly 
available to date, the consortium is working on this together with partner 
laboratories, e.g. by providing support for sample preparation, sequencing and 
assembly or storage in public repositories.

als zentrale Informationsinfrastruktur für die Lebenswissenschaften hat ZB MED 
zahlreiche Angebote für Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler im Bereich der

Auf der Plattform gibt es eine Sammlung verschiedener Ressourcen von freier 
Literatur, aktuellen Quellen und Text-Mining-Korpora. ZB MED entwickelt zudem 
weitere Literatur- und Daten-Services, die Forschende rund um COVID-19

interaktive, bioinformatische Werkzeuge wie z.B. Genomebrowser, Multiples 
Sequence Alignment Viewer und phylogenetische Bäume der kompletten 
SARS-CoV-2-Genome bereit. Das Angebot wird kontinuierlich in Zusammenarbeit mit 
anderen Forschenden weiterentwickelt.

Zudem ist ZB MED als Konsortialleitung im NFDI4Microbiota-Konsortium aktiv. 
Dessen Mitglieder stellen zahlreiche Informationsdienste und Analysetools für 
die virologische Forschungsgemeinschaft bereit
