International University Bremen (IUB) is seeking to fill, as soon as
possible, the position of

1 Library Staff Member (full time)

for Circulation.

International University Bremen is a residential research university with an
undergraduate program offering degrees in 14 fields, as well as high-level
graduate programs. The Information Resource Center of IUB has complete
responsibility for providing information resources and technology to support
teaching and learning.

Major duties include:
- Organizing the circulation desk that is run by student assistants and the
public areas of the IRC,
- Acting as contact person for IRC users in all matters of circulation,
- Supervising, organizing and training student assistants at the circulation
desk,
- Managing user accounts and fines,
- Managing course reserves.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- A degree in librarianship (Fachangestellte für Medien- und
Informationsdienste (FAMI), Bibliotheksassistent or Dipl.-Bibl.) and
professional experience in user services,
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing in English and German,
- Flexibility and ability to work in a team, 
- Competent handling of user requests,
- Responsibility and a service-oriented attitude.
